During his recent fashion show in Paris, the renowned artist and fashion designer Kanye West, commonly known as “Ye,” donned a shirt featuring the message “White Lives Matter” prominently displayed on its back. Accompanying him was Candace Owens, a conservative broadcaster, who was attired in an identical white shirt.
The hip-hop artist, who underwent a formal name change to Ye earlier this year, donned the garment during a fashion exhibition showcasing his YZY label. As reported by Complex, the models participating in the performance were observed donning the “White Lives Matter” shirts as well.
The Anti-Defamation League has reported that the phrase “White Lives Matter” originated in 2015 as a racially biased reaction to the Black Lives Matter movement. Since then, it has been embraced and advanced by white supremacist organizations and individuals who share their sympathies.
